 Heed Or Bleed 

Research has established that attention span is reduced to 4 to 5 seconds. Road safety requires dedicated attention and any attention breach and an attention gap are a bleed trap on the roads. Daily road travel requires dedicated attention, and an attention gap of even one second can result in a road crash. 

Breach of attention is the root cause and one or repeat of attention breach leads to road crash. All road users must learn mind management and cognitive situation management.  Rather than simply meeting the minimum requirements for compliance, building cognitive support system CSS (cognitive reserve - attention backup and cognitive schema - mental short cuts) and becoming proactive with a forward-looking approach is the key to avoiding attention breaches. 

If you have not learned mind management and cognitive situation management, you manage them accidently whereas you believe that you manage them intelligently, but that is an illusion and bleed trap. Every day around 500 road users die in road crashes in India due to this self-deceptive illusion and a bleed trap. Break your illusion before it breaks you.

Advice after injury is like a medicine after death, because it is least heeded when most needed. Heed and Bleed is a wake up call for all road users. Engage and heed to win your daily battle for a safe commute, disengage and bleed to lose.  All road users are required to have six packs mind on the roads or else be in self-imposed lockdown till you develop your inner capacity  otherwise you will bleed. A book with the title Heed or Bleed is compiled and soon it will be available in your favourite book stores and online.

Hazards perception on the road is a task that requires focused attention ( high level cognitive engagement) and attention backup to manage cognitive situations proactively. But road users do hazards perception  on the road with less attention ( cognitive disengagement ) and with cognitive deficiency and without the attention backup we manage cognitive situations reactively which leads them to road crashes.  This cognitive deficiency can be addressed by cognitive neuroplasticity through cognitive engineering program by developing attention backup and by converting the high attention task into rote attention task and automaticity. 

Everyday around 500 road users are dying and around 1100 are getting disabled in India due to breach of attention and without attention backup, which leads to road crashes. All road users across the world need to develop cognitive reserve (attention backup) and cognitive schema (mental shortcuts - schema) also called as cognitive support system - CSS immediately. Without CSS, one cannot give 100% attention, which leads to attention breaches and road crashes. One of the main root causes of road crashes is attention breach. Mindfulness is a Heed Strap and Mindlessness is a Bleed Trap on roads. Remember, it is impossible to maintain mindfulness on the roads without a backup of CSS, and no one can dispute this scientifically proven fact.

With CSS road users manage cognitive situations proactively and its outcome is intelligently positive. Without CSS road users manage cognitive situations reactively and its outcome is accidently positive and they have the illusion that its intelligently positive.  As a result of this illusion, many road users across the world bleed every day, and all road users are in dire need of developing CSS to create Cognitive Loop to maintain sustainable road safety. Road users should follow this advice, and thus we have initiated a global campaign"Heed or Bleed". It's about choosing proactive care (Heed) over reactive damage control (Bleed). It is about creating a Cognitive Loop that continues as long as you are on the road. 

In cognitive rules you have to perform set of complex cognitive activities CCAs by putting them in a Cognitive Loop , pay careful attention to moving traffic around you, road surfaces, road furniture (traffic signs, traffic lights) filter distractions, foresee visible, partially visible and invisible (hidden) hazards and turn them into no hazards proactively rather than reactively, maintain distance and take 100% responsibility for road crash prevention. All these activities you have to perform under Cognitive Loop on the road with self-regulations and self-disciplined manner over haphazardly manner.

Heed or Bleed is a stark warning that emphasizes the importance of paying careful attention (Heed) while on the road or risking injury and death (bleed). The campaign uses this strong language to highlight that a single moment of inattention on the road can have fatal consequences. Either pay attention and follow road traffic rules and cognitive rules strictly or disengage and ignore warning and face injury and accidental suicide. Develop a Cognitive loop to pay careful attention to selective activities.

We can learn basic computer skills through self-learning but the advanced computer skills we have to learn from experts and become expert. Those who have learned advanced computer skills from experts the have upgraded their life style. Individuals who have learned basic computer skills through self-learning they lack so many things of basic computer skills that includes many functions of keyboard, because there basic need is fullfilled with their self-learning, they don't feel the urge to learn more. School children who learn basic computer skills from experts, they possess more and better skills than all individuals who have learned through self-learning and children give advanced tips of basic computer skills to adults.

With self-learning computer skills we can manage our work related needs using little more efforts and lack of expert learning in basic computer skills does not pose any danger to our lives.

We can learn basic road safety skills through self-learning but the advanced road safetey skills we have to learn from experts and become expert. Those who have learned advanced road safety skills they have upgraded their road safety and become expert. Those who learned Inner world strategic specialisation they have become super expert. Sustainable road safety belongs to those who are self-regulated and super expert.

All road users possess basic road safety skills and they all believe that basic road safety skills are sufficient to manage their daily commute which is their illusion and a bleed trap, as every day around 3200 road users die in the world and out of that around 500 die in India due to road crashes. Every road user needs to upgrade their road safety skills to advanced levels. Otherwise all will fall into a bleed trap. 

We have physical disease when food which is life and does not become blood, and we have mental disease when knowledge which is life does not become action. The number of mental patients in the world is more than a physical illness patients. When food is not becoming blood, people accept physical illness, when knowledge is not becoming action people don't accept mental illness. Mental illness people make up a majority of people in society and world today. Unless the disease is accepted, it cannot be treated. Mental illness should be accepted by everyone when knowledge does not lead to action.

Without forming food into blood, one can survive for weeks or months, but without forming knowledge into proactive and preventative action on the road, this inaction can kill oneself and others. Falling into a well with a torch in hand, and increasing incidents of falling into a well is a sign of mental illness. If decades of awareness campaigns and special events fail to convert knowledge into action, it is not mental fitness but mental illness.

Patients can be forced to accept care if their mental illness poses a safety risk to themselves or to the people around them, if they are refusing to accept complete information because of false beliefs, if they are refusing to comprehend the facts and refusing care and treatment. Forced isolation and forced treatment was given to patients of Corona Virus.

Since we all have so many needs and constantly think about them, and it is impossible for us to continuously and compulsively pay full attention to the road, so we all need Cognitive Reserve also called CSS as an attention supplement and backup to enhance cognitive abilities. 

Attention span is reducing and the confidence of all road users is increasing that they can manage their attention gap with their daily experience on the road, whereas, every day around 3200 road users die in road crashes around the world, of which around 500 in India with the same confidence. Their confidence is turning into an illusion and without CSS the same can happen to us any day. Break your illusion before it breaks you. 

Heedfulness is mindfulness, diligent and careful attention on the current task and heedlessness is our default state drifting in past memories and future worries as well as distractions elements contribute to attention breaches. 100 years ago when the means of transportation was horse cart and bullock cart and even for long distance journey we use to go by walk as we were having time. Those days were moving on the roads in heedfulness and heedlessness state both and there were no road crashes.

Due to rapid motorization, we have not augmented our attention span, and just a second gap in attention can result in a road crash. Therefore, we must upgrade our attention span and develop cognitive support systems to maintain heedfulness on the road and be on pace with technology. Now we cannot commute by bullock cart, by walk or even by using bicycle, as we don't have time, and we want to cut our travel time, but we can develop CSS. We can make complex cognitive task (hazards perception) automatic instead of leaving it non-automatic, and we.manage it with high attention and stress.

Various scientist across the globe have stated that human behavior is responsible for 92% of road crashes, they have also said that humans will continue to make mistakes and we have to work on the external factors that contribute to make mistakes. But human behavior is the effect of a reason and no one has established about the reason the root cause. If we address the effect rather than reason then we will have to I keep increasing the size of emergency services and also the frequency of awareness campaigns. Global community is engaged in raising public awareness for behaviour change if behavior can be changed through awareness then no one will smoke after seeing the warning message of smoking is incurious to health. 

The attention span is expected to continue declining, and this decreasing attention span coupled with increasing road crashes will lead to every third person being disabled in next 30 years.  Imagine if you are living in a society where every third person is disabled including you. Hope you can understand the importance of this wake up call or an emergency warning message to improve mental health and the need of attention care, and come forward to develop CSS immediately. Do good work immediately, do it now, do it right now. Before it is too late.

Flood is coming climb onto the roof without providing a ladder, then no one can climb up. If you provide a ladder and a person is holding that ladder as a support from fall the people will climb on to the roof and feel safe. Without providing proper means to road users if you are running road safety awareness and  saying pay sustained attention,  no one will be able to pay sustained attention on the road because the creator has provided  unsustained attention ability to all humans. But with proper means and process we can enhance cognitive ability to pay sustained attention on the road. No institution in the world is providing proper means and process to road users to enhance the level of attention except Mother India Care.


Unsustained or shifting attention is indeed a natural human quality, often rooted in the brain's need for novelty and rest, and also the tendency of the mind which is engaging with the default state which is thinking process about past memories and future worries. Sustained attention is the ability to maintain focus on a single stimulus or task over a long period. It is a cognitive skill that must be actively developed, especially as modern environments and technologies frequently disrupt this ability. Developing attention backup involves consistent, daily effort to train the mind, rather than relying on willpower alone. 

Sustainable road safety demands sustained attention (mindfulness / heedfulness) and this demand can be fulfilled by developing attention backup through special training and practice under the guidance of a super expert, not with the mind guidance. Public awareness campaigns can only temporarily motivate or increase the will power to pay sustained attention on the road, but without developing the attention backup through learning cognitive skill, one cannot pay sustained attention on the road. Because, by default, everyone has an inbuilt quality of unsustained attention.

 Even the God’s intervention in raising road safety awareness would fail, because His intervention can temporarily increase the will power but cannot develop the cognitive ability for which one must undergo the training of inner world strategic specialisation training and develop the attention backup. Right now no one in the world is proving the specialised training except the Mother India Care (MIC). Road users can pay sustained attention on the road through cognitive engineering program (CEP) which is scientifically proven and revolutionary solution and available for the road users across the globe. Saints and mental people can pay sustained attention because their thought process is stuck on one single thought.

When the necessary tool is not present in the hardware and software built into humans, we have to develop that tool and integrate it with the present hardware and software to give the desired outcome. Without attention backup no one can pay sustained attention on the road and in the absence of attention backup you have to face consequences.
